On day eleven of the election campaign, Jagmeet Singh is focusing on part-time and precarious workers.
The NDP Leader says his government would give more health coverage to people who currently have to pay out of pocket for some services.
“We believe that if you make less than $70,000 in this country, and you have no insurance, we are going to make sure you’re covered for dental care. Everyone in our country that doesn’t have that coverage and makes under $70,000–that’s 4.3 million people–under our plan will immediately get dental service coverage,” says Singh.
Singh also pledged to put a cap on cell phone bills.
Conservative leader Andrew Scheer promises to clear the backlog of veterans waiting for benefits if he’s elected.
Scheer says it’s one of a number of changes he will mandate to services for veterans.
“We’re also going to fix Justin Trudeau’s failure to create a reliable, dependable pension system for veterans,” Scheer says. “The Trudeau Liberals created a messy system that short-changes some of our most severely disabled veterans by as much as $300,000.”
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau says if his party is re-elected, they will cut cell phone bills by 25 per cent, and raise the basic personal income tax deduction to $15,000.
