International Falls city council will hold a special meeting tonight to discuss how to fill a vacancy left by the sudden death of Mayor Bob Anderson.
He passed away in hospital Friday morning.
He was 77.
Meantime, tributes continue to pour in.
U.S. Senator Tina Smith, who last met Anderson in August, says he was passionate about his community and his love reflected in his years of dedication to the airport, hospital and anything connected to International Falls.
State Representative Rob Ecklund says Anderson was a consistent, effective advocate for International Falls and will be missed.
U.S. Senator, and Democratic presidential hopeful, Amy Klobuchar says she’ll remember Anderson as a tireless champion for small towns and the outdoors.
Congressman Rick Nolan calls Anderson a shining example of what real public service is about.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church beginning at 10 a.m.
