Canada has plenty of doctors for its population.
That according to the Canadian Institute for Health Information.
It says the number of physicians has more than doubled that of the population over the past five years.
There were almost 90-thousand doctors in Canada practising last year, an almost 4 per cent increase over 2017.
More women are also becoming doctors.
The CIHI says over the past five years, the number of woman physicians has increased 21 per cent compared to just a 7 per cent increase among males doctors.
Almost 60 per cent of family physicians and 50 per cent of specialists younger than 40 are now woman.
At the other end of the spectrum, 70 per cent of doctors aged 60 to 69 and 85 per cent over 70 are male.
