The Royal Canadian Legion wants the federal leaders to focus some of their attention on veterans.
It’s identified 17 different priorities for the parties to consider.
Dominion President Thomas Irvine says there’s three most important.
“Care and commitment, ensuring the lifelong financial security and care of our veterans and their families. The second would be homelessness and suicide and the third one would be recognition in remembrance,” says Irvine.
Irvine says the Legion is not backing any one party.
“We’ve had conversations with the different parties on our advocacy issues . We’re not political in any way. We don’t advise them. We’re just happy that they were coming up with policies on their own.”
