A state of emergency is still in place in Manitoba where 25 Hydro One employees from northwestern Ontario are now working.
They were called in on the weekend to help Manitoba Hydro deal with several power outages caused by a severe snowstorm that struck late last week.
Manitoba’s also receiving assistance from Minnesota Power.
As of Monday, there were still more 800 outages, impacting about 20-thousand customers.
Areas hardest hit include the regions around Portage la Prairie, Neepawa, Dauphin, Ashern, and Arborg.
Manitoba Hydro says it could be a week to 10 days before power is fully restored.
