Fifty-two different companies have been approached about purchasing the former Resolute Forest Products mill in Fort Frances.
Economic Development Consultant Tannis Drysdale told the town’s Economic Development Advisory Committee Monday initial packages were sent out in early October.
A second one was sent out last week from Mayor June Caul.
“And we now have a fairly firm understanding of what can be produced in the mill. We can provide that information back to the entities,” says Drysdale.
A deal with current property owners is giving the town until the end of the year to source out a potential operator.
“We continue to have at least one interested entity but whether that forms out, that is still yet unknown,” says Drysdale.
