A couple of key planning documents highlight the work for International Falls city council in 2019.
One was a new Comprehensive Plan that identifies key objectives for the city and council over the next five to ten years.
Mayor Harley Droba says that document took two years to complete.
“That is a huge win for us because now we have that guiding document for us to look forward to,” says Droba.
The other is a new Community Improvement Plan.
That outlines projects they’ll work on with funding from a new city sales tax that went into effect in October.
“In October, November, December, we’ve been able to start collecting those funds and now we’re bonding against it to do some serious road work and construction on our infrastructure.”
Mayor Harley Droba says both are key documents to the city’s future.
“A lot of the things that we need, which is vision for the future and infrastructure, both were addressed and we’ll see those benefits again 2020.”
