There will be no Canada Day parade in Fort Frances but Rainy River Future Development Corporation has come up with a different way to show our Canadian Pride.
Tourism and Events CoordinatorEmma Dykstra says they’re putting a video together containing Canada Day greetings from various community leaders and residents.
They’re now seeking those greetings from anyone wanting to take part.
“People can dress up in their Canadian swag and just give some warm celebratory wishes, just making it positive and encouraging. What we’re trying to do is replace the parade,” says Dykstra.
Dykstra says they will also have Canada Day signs to give away. They will be made available later this month during the market at Rainy Lake Square.
Dykstra would like to have the clips in as soon as possible.
“And if anyone wishes to participate, they are more than welcome to send a 10 to 20 seconds clip to ecdev@fortfrances.ca.
When it’s complete, the video will be posted to the town of Fort Frances social media pages on Canada Day.
