Nuinsco Resources is set to conduct drilling at its Sunbeam Gold property near Atikokan.
The area is believed to rich in gold-bearing minerals.
It was once the site of an operating mine between 1898 and 1905.
The company says the drilling will help determine the extent of the ore body that supplied gold to the former mine and evaluate future exploration.
The work is expected to start this spring pending COVID-19 restrictions.
