A workplace COVID-19 outbreak at the New Gold Rainy River mine, north of Barwick, is now impacting ten employees.
Three are confirmed to having the virus.
The company says seven others recorded a non-negative reading during onsite testing.
All ten are currently isolating off-site.
“The Company has a comprehensive COVID-19 response plan in place, and the health and safety of our workforce and our communities remain our number one concern. We will support all initiatives that align with that objective,” states Renaud Adams, President and CEO, in a release.
New Gold says it is also working closely with its medical service provider and the Northwestern Health Unit.
Meantime, mining operations continue with the remaining workforce.
