Weather is helping Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry firefighters deal with a forest fire that is burning Naitcatchewenin First Nation.
Crews have been able to lay hose lines around its perimeter to prevent the fire from spreading further.
It’s now listed at 407 hectares.
The Ministry says the fire is exhibiting primarily smouldering conditions but is still considered not under control.
Smoke is still a problem.
A total of 86 residents have been evacuated to Fort Frances.
Most are staying at a local motel.
Air purification units have also been obtained for residents still in the community.
