It was a weekend sweep for three drivers at Emo Speedway as the 2021 stock car racing season opened with a double-race weekend.
It was also this time in almost two years that fans were allowed to watch.
Public health guidelines are limiting 625 fans per race until further notice.
Friday night featured thirteen street stocks, eleven modifieds and 32 Mid-west modifieds with drivers coming from Manitoba and the Thunder Bay area to join those from the Rainy River district.
Brody Strachan of Devlin won the night’s feature in the modified class.
Jamie Davis of Fort Frances picked up the win in the Mid-west modified division.
Darren Wolframe of Thunder Bay took checkers in the street stock feature.
All three drivers repeated their winning performances in Saturday night’s features.
The action continues next Saturday night with hot lap taking place at 7 p.m. and racing getting underway at 7:30 p.m.
Borderland Racing is always looking for volunteers to help them during the race season. If you can lend a hand, contact them through their Facebook page or website.
