If the vote was left to school children, the Liberals would not have won as many seats.
Schools across the country were involved in the Student Vote Canada initiative, which helps educate students about the election process.
It includes a mock vote.
Under their vote, the students gave the Liberals 117 seats, the NDP with 102 and the Conservatives with 91.
In northwestern Ontario, students favoured NDP candidates Yuk-Sem Won and Chantelle Bryson and Conservative Eric Melillo.
In the riding of Thunder Bay-Rainy River, Won was selected by 42 per cent of students who took part.
A total of eleven schools in the Rainy River District took part.
