Provincial Police have confirmed that one person has died following a crash east of Dryden on Highway 17 Thursday.
Around 10:45 am, the OPP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Southworth Township.
Police say a Westbound pick up truck lost control and struck an Eastbound Tractor Trailer unit.
The driver 68 year old Kirk Vadnais of Minnesota was pronounced dead at the scene while the passenger 61 year old Julie Vadnais also of Minnesota was flown to Thunder Bay with life threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The Trans-Canada fully reopened around 11 pm after being completely closed for over 12 hours between Wabigoon and Dinorwic.
