The Canadian Cancer Society has recently started a new initiative in an attempt to help with the unique challenges that people in our part of the world face when it comes to cancer diagnosis and treatment.
A fundraising event was held at Flint House on November 9th to spotlight the Northern Ontario Campaign. Owners Duane and Grace Cridland continue to be instrumental in spearheading this cause.

Dr. Alla Reznik, a physicist with Lakehead University and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute, who specializes in radiation medical imaging, spoke about the funding she has received from The Canadian Cancer Society that is helping with the ongoing development of a new diagnostic imaging device that she has been a big part of creating. This is a special camera that targets individual organs with improved sensitivity, resolution, and flexibility that enables precision imaging.

As the event went on some unbelievably generous local residents and business owners opened up their wallets and their hearts to give incredibly large sums of money towards this cause.
