The Fort Frances Sports Hall of Fame have officially announced their list of inductees for 2022!
Individual Athletes
The late Danny Johnson, who played in both the NHL and WHA and was
chosen as team captain in his last year with the WHA’s Winnipeg Jets.
Kelly Lyons, who was a Top 10 ranked swimmer in her age group in Canada.
Danny Smith, who had a distinguished 21 year career in The Special Olympics.
Builders
Dave Egan, who coached minor hockey for 37 years and was one of the leaders in
the Ice for Kids arena campaign.
The 1991 – 1993 Fort Frances Curling Club Committee, who built the current club on
Eighth Street after the original club was condemned only two years earlier.
The late Herman Guimond, who’s name was synonymous with hockey in Fort Frances and Couchiching First Nation from the 1940’s to the 1980’s.
Terry Ogden, who coached the Muskie hockey team to seven provincial medals, including the school’s first two gold medals in 1986 and 1989.

If Province of Ontario health guidelines allow, these inductees will officially enter the Hall of Fame, during ceremonies taking place in August.
