A Fort Frances councillor is stepping down from several council committees.
In a letter to the rest of council, Doug Judson says he is no longer available to attend daytime meetings after a sudden appointment as chair of the Federation of Ontario Law Associations.
Today I resigned from all of our Council's executive committees. Council refuses to make basic changes to accommodate the participation of working-age people in its proceedings. As the only member in the workforce, I am simply no longer available during the business day. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/3yHR6GnrTM

He also expresses disappointment that a majority of council is unwilling to remove barriers that prevent working people from participating in council proceedings.
Judson had sought changes a couple of weeks ago, only to find no support to have them considered.
Judson says he feels he can be more effective serving the community’s interests through other regional boards he is on, including the
Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre, the Northwest Legal Clinic and Borderland Pride
He still plans to remain on council, attending regular council meetings in the evening.
