Thoughts and prayers will be with Ukraine and its people in Fort Frances today.
The Fort Frances Ministerial is hosting a Peace in Eastern Europe Prayer Vigil.
Ron Haggerty, the Chaplain at Rainycrest Long Term Care, says many people in our area are concerned about what’s taking place.
“We are wanting to join together in prayer for God’s intervention and protection for the people that we care about,” says Haggerty.
The event happens at the Rainy Lake Square, beginning at 12:15 p.m.
Haggerty says several ministries are involved.
“We have different clergy that will be reading a short portion of Scripture and then different clergy that will be taking a prayer for different aspects of the needs that are there.”
Mayor June Caul is also expected to attend to address the gathering.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
You are advised to bring a lawn chair.
“It’s just kind of a Community involvement that we want some give our communities an opportunity to join us and ask the God’s intervention and blessing on the Ukrainian people.”
