The president of the Beyak Automotive Group says he approached the town of Fort Frances about helping fund a new spray park.
Instead, a donation of $247 thousand went to Dryden.
Nick Beyak says the idea came from a staff person working in Fort Frances.
He says he did speak with town officials.
“They had a process, you know, do this and this and this and then we’ll eventually get you in front of council kind of thing,” says Beyak.
“So from that reception we got from Fort Frances, we really didn’t have a good feeling about making that investment there.”
Council was discussing the idea of a spray park at the time.
They agreed to have administration use 2022 as a planning year while sourcing out potential grants.
Council also agreed to seek interested groups wanting to take a lead role in the project.
