Officials are warning Rainy Lake continues to be vulnerable to rising again if the area receives heavy rainfall in the future.
The lake’s decline was halted with Tuesday’s storms that dropped about 25 millimetres.
Rainy remains 6 centimetres over its 1950 high but is expected to decline by the same amount over the next seven days.
Namakan Lake, one of many feeders into Rainy, is expected to fall by as much as 34 centimetres over the same period.
Downstream, Lake of the Woods is expected to remain stable for the next seven days, depending on additional rainfall.
Forecasters are expecting generally dry weather and near to below normal precipitation for the rest of the month.
