The Sioux Lookout Bombers maintained their hold on the SIJHL lead with a pair of victories over the visiting Kenora Islanders.
The Bombers won 6-1 on Saturday and 7-2 on Saturday to improve their win streak to 12 games and move three points ahead of the Kam River Fighting Walleye.
Connor Burk, Dayvan Bull, Tait Howell, Ty Kirk, Blake Burke and Ty Lone scored for Sioux Lookout in Saturday’s contest.
Aaron Bertschinger replied for Kenora.
Kirk paced the way for the Bombers in Friday’s game with a pair of goals.
Rylen Leroux, Blake Burke, Connor Burke, Howell and Johan Smith added singles.

The Thunder Bay North Stars swept their weekend series over the Fort Frances Lakers, winning 7-3 on Saturday and 5-3 on Friday.
The Stars’ Tyler Jordan notched a hat trick in Saturday’s contest, with Edison Weeks finding the net twice.

In Dryden, the GM Ice Dogs earned a split with the Red Lake Miners with a 1-0 win on Saturday.
Sean Smith provided the game’s only goal in the second period.
Ewan Soutar stopped all 28 shots he faced to record his third shutout this season.
The Miners won 5-2 on Friday, with goals coming from Noah Tenney, Bradyn Rowswell, Gabe Tanton, Preston Tauter and Blake Hiltermann.
Stanislav Boiarchuk and Ben Coatham replied for the Ice Dogs.
In Spooner, Wisconsin, the Wilderness scored five third period goals to upset the Fighting Walleye 7-5 on Saturday.
Dillon Phillips scored three times for Wisconsin, with Koen Burkholder, Collin Baker, Simon Davidson and Nolan Fowler adding singles.
Ryan Borody scored twice for the Walleye, with others coming from Ryan Doucette, Bronson Babyak and Carter Nailen.
Kam River had opened 2024 with an 8-2 win on Friday, with Max Wright scoring twice.
Doucette, Carter Poddubny, Jeremy Dunmore, Matteo Salvatore, Caleb Labelle and Nailen also scored.
