CN workers responsible for track maintenance have a tentative agreement.
The members of the United Steelworkers Union still need to ratify it.
Voting is planned for late March or early April.
The union is recommending acceptance.
“We are proud of this new deal that we were able to reach after many long weeks,” states Cole Kramer, USW Local 2004 president, in a release.
“Our members do important work in ensuring the continuing viability of our national railways, and I am pleased that we were able to reach an agreement that fairly compensates them for their efforts.”
The three-year deal for about three thousand workers would replace one that expired at the end of December.
Talks began last October.
