A respiratory outbreak at Emo Health Centre has forced the need for new visitor restrictions.
The outbreak is within the health centre’s long-term care wing.
The hospital is allowing no more than two visitors or caregivers in a resident’s room at any one time.
All visits must be conducted in the resident’s room.
Admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have also been temporarily halted.
Riverside Health Care says they are asking all visitors to self-screen before entering and stay away if experiencing any symptoms.
“We continue to urge everyone to be diligent in practicing appropriate hand hygiene and infection prevention and control practices when visiting our facilities at any time,” says a release.
Officials say no other parts of the health centre are currently impacted by the outbreak.
