Rainy and Namakan Lakes are being kept high.
The International Rainy-Lake of the Woods Watershed Board’s Water Levels Committee says levels will be at the top of the lakes’ rule curves, which sets a range of levels for this time of year.
It comes after the watershed received between 10 and 40 cm of snow in various locations.
The board says achieving the targets can only be achieved if nature allows and runoff into the lakes starts to increase.
The board is keeping the proposed targets in place at least until April 15th.
