Ontario’s liquor store employees are giving their union a strike mandate.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union says 97% of the over 8,000 workers who voted this past week support the action to back contract demands.
The union does not say when a potential strike could occur.
It is meeting with members on Monday night to discuss those details.
Contract talks with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario are scheduled to resume this week.
The union is accusing the LCBO of seeking concessions as an expansion of liquor sales is poised for convenience and more big box stores later this year.
