Quest For The Best 2024 was another incredible night that showcases the singing, musical and performing talent that we have here in the Borderland!
The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce always puts on a first rate event and I know the hard work that Executive Director Heather Johnson and her team put in to make the night so successful.
The Window and Door Store has brought so much to Quest over the last couple of years as Show Sponsor. Jessica Ogden and staff have also worked hard behind the scenes for the benefit of this event.
93.1 The Border is also proud to have been a Show Sponsor and it’s my privilege to have emceed once again this year.
All of the performers were backed in stellar musical fashion by “The Faculty”. This band is truly the backbone of Quest For The Best. The rehearse with all of the contestants and learn all of their song choices in a matter of weeks. Their talent is second to none. A HUGE thank you to Chris Denby, Steve Denby, Rob Donaldson and Jim Newman!
The panel of Judges this year had the difficult task of deciding who was most deserving of extra special recognition. Hats off to Callahan Armstrong, John Dutton, Dr. Jeff Gustafson and Ken Kellar!
It all came down to the “Battle Song” were the Winner of Set One, Jennifer Thorpe shared the stage with the Winner of Set Two, Jaykob Ryll. The song they performed was the Journey hit “Separate Ways”.
Based on their opinion of who gave the best showing during the Battle Song, the judges chose Jaykob Ryll a this year’s Quest For The Best Winner! This is his second win, as he also picked up a victory in 2022. Way to go Jaykob! He was also this year’s winner of People’s Choice Set Two.
That mean’s Jennifer Thorpe was this year’s Runner Up! A fantastic showing for her as well! Great Job Jennifer!
