The provincial government says it now has agreements in place with all education labour groups with the start of a new school year three weeks away.
The latest is a tentative deal impacting school principals and vice-principals.
The memorandum of settlement is between the Ontario government, the associations representing principals and vice-principals (Ontario Principals’ Council, Catholic Principals’ Council of Ontario and Association des directions et directions adjointes des écoles franco-ontariennes) and the four associations representing school boards (Ontario Public School Boards’ Association, Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association, Association franco-ontarienne des conseils scolaires catholiques and Association des conseils scolaires des écoles publiques de l’Ontario).
It establishes the terms and conditions for employment.
It is a four-year agreement that dates back to the start of the 2023-24 school year.
Principal and vice-principals are not unionized but belong to one of the three voluntary organizations,
They will now review the agreement as part of the approval process over the next few weeks.
