Thunder Bay Fire number 17 is burning roughly 20 kilometres south of Highway 11, and Quetico Provincial Park.
The 0.1-hectare fire is currently not under control.
The wildland fire hazard ranges from low to extreme across the region.
The hazard is primarily low across the far north and moderate to high through the remainder of the region, with a pocket of extreme hazard west of Red Lake.
