The bells ring again for the Salvation Army in Fort Frances.
Its Christmas Kettle campaign is underway.
The campaign kicked off at the Salvation Army’s Scott Street location, with Deputy Mayor Mike Behan making the first donation.
Children’s and Family Services Coordinator for the Salvation Army Ryan Daw says the money collected helps with their food bank.
“It’s been a difficult year for lots of people. We’re seeing a huge rise in the need for the food bank. This campaign is more needed than ever in the community,” says Dawe.
“There is a huge need for the services that the Salvation Army provides. ”
The kettles are located at Safeway, The Place, and Walmart in Fort Frances, Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo and Beaver Mill Market in Rainy River.
“And these donations stay in Fort Frances. They’re a part of the community, and we help people from the community,” says Daw.
Daw says they have a number of volunteers available to ring the bells at the kettles, but more help is always welcome.
You can contact the Salvation Army if you would like to donate a few hours of your time.
