Ontario’s NDP leader says the provincial election is an opportunity for voters to make a leadership change.
Marit Stiles addressed supporters, candidates and caucus members in Toronto to kick off her party’s campaign.
She says after seven years with Doug Ford as Premier, it is time for Ontarians to make a change.
“It’s time to turn the page on Doug Ford,” says Stiles.
“Seven years of neglecting our schools and our hospitals. Seven years of failure, corruption and bad deals on housing. Doug Ford does not deserve a third term.”
Stiles also warned against voting for the Liberal Party, suggesting Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie is too similar to Ford.
“Today’s Liberal leader would be right at home as a cabinet minister in Doug Ford’s government,” says Stiles.
Bonnie Crombie doesn’t want to get rid of Doug Ford. Bonnie Crombie wants to be Doug Ford.”
Stiles indicates plans to bring in a strong income protection program to deal with the impact caused by new U.S. trade tariffs.
