The flu is impacting Rainycrest Long Term Care Home in Fort Frances.
Riverside Health Care says an Influenza “A” outbreak has been declared at the home’s west wing.
Visitor restrictions and masking protocols have been put in place.
Riverside says only two visitors or caregivers may visit at a time, and visitors should only visit one resident per visit.
Visits are also restricted to a resident’s room and not in common areas.
All visitors to the wing must also wear masks and additional protective equipment if required.
There are also restrictions on admissions, transfers, discharges and large group activities impacting the wing.
No other parts of the home are currently impacted, but Riverside is urging people to stay away if they are feeling ill or experiencing symptoms.
“Riverside urges all visitors to conduct a self-screening before entering our facilities. Individuals experiencing flu-like symptoms are kindly asked not to visit at that time,” a statement from Riverside reads.
