Riverside Health Care is dealing with another flu outbreak.
It is impacting the first floor at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Visitor restrictions and masking protocols are now in place for the floor.
Only two individuals may visit at a time, and visitors should limit their visit to one patient per day.
Medical masking is required for all visitors on the first floor and may be required to wear additional personal protective equipment if necessary.
Similar measures are also in place at Rainycrest Long Term Care’s west wing where a flu outbreak was declared on February 6th.
Riverside asks anyone who visits the facilities to self-screen for symptoms and avoid visiting if experiencing any signs of illness.
“The district is currently seeing high levels of respiratory illness, and we urge the public to take appropriate precautions, including frequent handwashing, wearing a mask
where needed, and staying home if unwell,” says a statement issued by Riverside.
Currently, there are no restrictions on hospital services.
