Correctional workers and Sheriff’s deputies in Koochiching County have new contracts.
The deals were ratified by the County’s Board of Commissioners this week.
Both are three-year deals with wage increases totalling 9.5% over the term.
Increases of 3.5% kick in this year.
Additional pay recognizing years of service was also added to the corrections agreement to reduce staff turnover.
Employees who have worked 5, 10 or 15 will get an additional 2% pay each time a milestone is reached.
The deputies are also rewarded for years of service but need to reach 10 or 15 years of employee to achieve a 3% increase.
The contracts impact 10 correctional workers and 12 deputies.
