The Fort Frances Muskies boys and girls hockey teams opened the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations’ hockey championships in Sudbury with losses.
The boys’ team dropped a 4-1 decision to Renfrew’s St. Joseph’s Jaguars on Tuesday morning.
The Muskies gave up three goals in the first before Callum McCormick drew the team within two midway through the third period.
An empty net goal sealed the win for the Jaguars.
The girls were shutout 2-0 by St. Michael Warriors of Stratford in their opener.
Both goals came three minutes apart in the second period.
The girls’ team next faces the Napanee Golden Hawks at noon Eastern.
The boys are also on the ice at noon Eastern for a game against the Holy Trinity Titans from Courtice.
