The organization that has raised millions of dollars for healthcare is looking at its future.
Riverside Foundation for Health Care says a fundraising relationship it has had with Riverside Health Care for almost three decades is ending.
The Foundation says Riverside Health Care wants to take its fundraising efforts in a new direction.
Acadia News has reached out to Riverside for a further explanation.
In a statement from the Foundation, it says it is saddened with the decision but still dedicated to supporting healthcare initiative.
“We are actively exploring new opportunities to continue making a meaningful impact on the well-being of our community,” the statement reads.
When contacted, President of the Foundation’s Board of Directors Tyler Cousineau says they will have further comment at a later date.
The Foundation came into being in 1997, and helped raise millions of dollars in various campaigns, events and most recently the 50-50 draws.
The money has gone toward expanded facilities and new medical equipment such as the CATscan at LaVerendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances and a new ultrasound machine at Rainy River Health Centre.
