On April 26th 2020, The Stronger Together/Tous Ensemble benefit concert brought Canadian stars and musicians together to help raise money for Food Banks Canada.
Did you watch on TV or online? Maybe you were even able to donate?
The goal was to raise money for their $150-million campaign to provide immediate support to food banks from coast-to-coast during this pandemic. Thousands of Canadians have been left unemployed and many are battling food insecurity. Food banks across the country are trying to meet this increased demand.
In case you’re wondering, how well they did…
I don’t have a dollar amount for you, but apparently the Food Banks Canada website crashed because of the overwhelming support!
The highlight for me, was seeing Canadian artists like Justin Bieber, Michael Bublé, Sarah McLachlan, Jann Arden, Avril Lavigne, Bryan Adams, Geddy Lee from Rush, Josh Ramsay from Mariana’s Trench, Fefe Dobson, Scott Helman, Serena Ryder, Shawn Hook, Tyler Shaw Walk Off The Earth and so many more team up for a social distancing video performance of Bill Withers classic song “Lean On Me”.
