Hydro One has selected two contractors to work jointly on the proposed Waasigan Transmission Line project.
Valard Construction out of Thunder Bay and Edmonton-based Forbes Bros. will on the early stages of the project intended to draw power from Thunder Bay through Atikokan to Dryden.
“The proposed Waasigan Transmission Line project is a critical investment in the transmission system. And through the ECI (early contractor involvement) procurement model, Forbes Bros Ltd. and Valard Construction LP will ensure we’re delivering value for northwestern Ontario,” states Daniel Levitan, Vice President, Stakeholder Relations, Hydro One.
Hydro One is still going through the regulatory requirements of the project. It recently submitted the Terms of Reference for the Environmental Assessment process for the government to review.
