The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board has the green light to proceed with its planned development of the former St. Michael’s School.
The chair of a Land Tribunal hearing has issued a final ruling that allows a rezoning of the property to proceed.
A group of residents had sought to stop a planned construction of a number of eight-unit apartment buildings on the school’s green space.
The chair had granted the appeal in part until additional information related to the conceptual site plan and the zoning by-law amendment was received.
That information was forwarded last month.
The DSSAB is also proposing seniors apartments and the relocation of its EarlyOn program to the school.
