The Fort Frances Lakers have made another roster move.
The Lakers traded defenseman Josh Greene to the Sioux Lookout Bombers for a player development fee.
The 20-year-old from Pullman, Washington, had three goals and 11 points in 25 games in his second season with Fort Frances.
The Rainy River Owls were swept on the court on Wednesday by the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints in NorWOSSA league action in Kenora.
The junior boys basketball team was beaten 44-38.
The senior girls volleyball team fell three games to one, while the junior team was bested in two straight games.
The Rainy River Voyageurs basketball teams earned a sweep of the Vermilion Ironhawks.
The men won 122-81, while the women won 82-84.
Every player on the men’s roster scored at least 2 points, with Tyreke Francois leading the way with 28 points, 15 rebounds and four assists.
Christian Pujals added 18 points and six assists.
Destiny Piekarski scored 31 points and had 25 rebounds to lead the women’s team to victory.
Cara Polk scored 25 points.
The Voyageurs will be on the road Saturday to play the Northland College Lumberjacks.
