Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Marcus Powlowski is making the rounds in advance of a resumption of Parliament later this month.
He held an open house at his constituency office in Fort Frances on Friday.
The Liberal MP says he is hearing from residents on a variety of concerns.
“I actually spend a disproportionate amount of time dealing with the issues outside Thunder Bay. And in the west of my riding, I would say 60% of my issues are from this part of the riding rather than Thunder Bay, even though the population is much smaller,” says Powlowski.
“It’s a big geographic area with a lot of issues from the flooding to fishing issues to immigration issues.”
Before heading to Ottawa, Powlowski makes a trip to Washington D.C.
He says the World Health Organization is looking at developing a treaty on pandemic preparedness.
“I’m going down to D.C. before I go back to Parliament to talk to some of the American experts on what the American position, what the Canadian position will be.”
