The mayor of Rainy River has been re-elected to serve as chair of the District of Rainy River Services Board.
Debbie Ewald has held the role since 2019.
Elections for chair and vice-chair were made at the board’s first meeting for 2024.
“I am honoured to have been re-elected as Chair of the District of Rainy River Services Board. This vote of confidence from my colleagues inspires me to continue working diligently to address the needs of our community and to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our
residents,” said Ewald in a release.
Fort Frances Mayor Andrew Hallikas remains as vice-chair for a fourth straight year.
“I am very pleased to be able to return as Vice Chair and thank the members for their support. Together with Debbie and the entire board, I look forward to building on the progress we’ve made and finding innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our community,” added Hallikas.
The services board is made up of 13 members, including 10 appointed by area municipal councils.
