The pool at the Memorial Sports Centre in Fort Frances will not open this month or next.
Town officials say unexpected challenges experienced during the rehabilitation of the pool are pushing a reopening to late May or early June.
The pool has been closed since early November.
Town officials say greater structural deterioration and unexpected plumbing interferences with the pool skimmer and jet water lines were identified that impacted the original work schedule.
Progress is being made.
The town reports structural and masonry work is almost done.
The improvements to the below deck plumbing are underway.
When complete, a new pool deck will be poured.
Improvements to the men’s sauna and the heating and ventilation system are also finished.
The project was issued at a cost of $1.4 million.
