More than sixty people took part in a Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls walk to raise awareness of the issue.
The walk was one of several activities held as part of a MMIWG summit.
Participants gathered at the shore of the Rainy River for a ceremony before walking to Giishkaandago’ikwe Health Services Highway, guided by a police escort from Treaty Three Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police.
Drummers sang along the route for the walkers.
Some of the participants included family members of victims from the Rainy River District.
Fort Frances Mayor Andrew Hallikas also took part.
