Restrictions imposed on visits to Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances have been lifted.
They were imposed because of a COVID outbreak first identified at the end of April.
It was declared for the west wing before spreading throughout the rest of the facility.
Riverside Health Facilities says the outbreak has now ended.
Restrictions on admissions, transfers and large group activities that were also in place have also been removed.
Riverside continues to ask that while visitor restrictions have been
lifted, any individual experiencing symptoms of illness should refrain from visiting.
The public is also reminded to prevent getting and spreading infections by:
• Washing hands often, for at least 15 seconds with soap and warm water or by using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer,
• Maintaining good cough and sneeze etiquette (into a tissue, your sleeve or elbow),
• Putting all used tissues in the garbage right away,
• Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, and
• Staying at home if sick, to avoid spreading infections to others.
