Barbara Monaghan of Fort Frances is the latest winner of Riverside Foundation for Health Care’s 50-50 draws.
She takes home $9,243.
Monaghan says she had purchased tickets for other regional hospital fundraisers, but never for Riverside’s.
Feeling a need to support local, she purchased her first ticket for the summer draw.
She plans to use some of her winnings to pay off some bills but is still pondering how to use the rest.
The next draw takes place on September 27th.
Tickets are available at www.riverside5050.ca or by calling the Foundation Office to arrange for offline sales.
Proceeds are used to purchase new equipment for Riverside Health Care’s facilities.
Since January, the draws have helped support the purchase of a pediatric crib, tilt wheelchair, vital sign monitor and big wheel stretcher, costing almost $30,000.
All proceeds from the current draw will go toward a Nu Step Bike/Stepping machine valued at $14,000 for the rehab department.
