An Edmonton-based mining company is putting some extra focus on property near Nestor Falls.
Golden Rapture Mining says it is dropping its exploration of land near Geraldton to devote its time and resources to its Phillips Township Gold Property.
Recent drilling identified high-grade gold a mere 90 feet from the surface.
The drilling was part of an exploratory program using a portable diamond drill.
The company believes the findings are from a series of veins leading to a larger deposit.
“Our team is extremely pleased to have discovered near-surface high-grade gold in what we believe could be vertical feeder zones,” states Richard Rivet, Chief Executive Officer of Golden Rapture, in a release.
“These newly discovered veins and results have given us a positive outlook about the future of our company as we now have a series of high-grade vertical veins to further explore instead of just a large flat-lying quartz structure.”
The site is 30 kilometres north of New Gold’s Rainy River Mine.
It hosts 18 mine shafts used by operating mines in the early 1900s.
