More for you.
That’s the slogan Ontario Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie will use in the lead-up to the next provincial election.
In a speech to delegates attending the party’s annual meeting and policy conference, Crombie says Ontario should be a place where everyone can get ahead.
“Ontario should be a province where the economy works for everyone because you have a government that works for you and not for them,” says Crombie.
“We are going to do more for you. More to get you a family doctor, more to keep ERs open, more for our students, more for renters who want to feel safe in their homes, more for young people wanting to buy their first home. More to grow our economy. We are going to make your life easier and leave money in your pocket.”
Crombie also took direct aim at Premier Doug Ford, suggesting that political insiders and friends of the PC party have been the ones to benefit from the decisions of the Ford government.
“I blame Doug for the fact that you’re paying more taxes than you were six years ago. I blame Doug for the fact that you are spending more of your own money on health care than ever before. I blame Doug for businesses that are struggling thanks to lagging investment in Ontario. I blame Doug for our economy, for the healthcare crisis, and for the fact that you and your family are paying the price.”
Crombie says healthcare will be one of the top priorities in the next provincial election.
