The Fort Frances Downtown Business Improvement Association is 40.
It celebrated that milestone during last Thursday’s Mall Day.
Board member Cathy Emes says it was initially known as Voyageur Village with a vision to improve the appearance of the downtown and create an environment along Scott St. that would attract to people.
Emes notes a lot has changed over the 40 years, noting especially the number of buildings now being occupied.
She says Scott St. has also seen a number of improvements over those years.
Most notable has been the Fort Frances Museum courtyard and most recently the Rainy Lake Square.
