They will be playing in the mud in Atikokan this weekend.
The annual Mudfling, promoted by the Atikokan Mudslingers 4 X 4 club goes at the Charleson Recreation Area tomorrow and Sunday.
Club Treasurer Katie Hannon says competitors will be driving through mud to achieve the best time.
“Usually we have somewhere between 40 and 50 drivers. A little less trucks because some share trucks….we usually do pretty well in regards to the number of competitors we have.”
Most are from the Atikokan area, but the event has attracted trucks from elsewhere in northwestern Ontario and Minnesota in the past.
The event is now in its 31st year.
Hannon notes it’s the only one of its kind in northwestern Ontario.
The racing starts at noon both days.
