The Fort Frances Museum will be celebrating a milestone this month.
It’s been a fixture of Scott Street for the past forty years, while the building itself, initially constructed as a school, has been around since 1898.
The museum moved into the building in 1978.
Prior to that, artifacts were on display at the former Fort Frances Library on Church Street.
Curator Sherry George says they’ll commemorate that history in a new exhibit that will focus on the museum and building’s history.
It will officially open during a wine and cheese reception on September 19.
George says they are also using that event to recognize the completion of construction of a new ramp at the front of the building and roof repairs.
